Effective 6 November 2026
In short
I'm Gabriel Conlon, an independent app developer and photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. I make the apps below, run this website and take photos as Two Out Media, and this policy covers all three.
I don't collect your data. My apps have no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing you put into them is sent to me. What you create stays on your devices and, where an app syncs, in your own iCloud account. Some features ask a public service for something on your behalf, such as a route, live transit times or a forecast; each app's section of this policy names those services and says what is sent.
This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If you use the contact or support form, I receive what you type so I can reply, and I delete it once it's dealt with.
When I take photos and video, I publish pictures of people only with their consent, spoken or written, taken at events or sessions where people know I have a camera and that the pictures may be used on social media and in my own portfolio. If you are in one of my pictures and want it taken down, use the contact form and I will remove it.
Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, through the contact form. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Scope
This policy covers this website, every app listed under "Each app" below on every platform it runs on, and the photos and video I take and publish as Two Out Media, here and on social media.
This website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. If you send a message with the contact or support form, the name, email address and message you enter are stored by Netlify, which hosts this site, so that I can read and answer it. I delete messages once they are dealt with. Netlify also keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and operations, under its own policy.
Rights
Because the apps keep your data on your devices and in your own iCloud account, you control it directly: you can edit or delete it in the app, delete the app to remove what it stores on a device, and manage or delete iCloud data in your device's iCloud settings.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data I hold about you, to object to its use and to take it elsewhere. The only personal data I hold myself is a message you send through a form on this site, and photos or video of you that I have taken with your consent. To use any of these rights, use the contact form. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Children
These apps are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in Ireland and the EEA), and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal data through a form on this site, use the contact form and I will delete it.
Contact
For any privacy question or request, use the contact form or the support form for the app. I answer every request myself, normally within 30 days.
Changes
When this policy changes, I post the new version here with a new effective date and a one-line summary in the version history below, and keep the previous text in the archive. If a change affects how an app handles your data, I will also say so in that app's release notes.
Each app
Everything above applies to every app. Below is what each one handles, the permissions it asks for and the outside services it talks to.
FastPhotosCull
Your information in this app
- Your Photos library, if you allow access: Read on your device so you can cull it. Photos are never uploaded anywhere by the app; albums you add photos to, and video clips you trim, stay in your own Photos library.
- Your stars, pick flags, rejects and colour labels: Kept in the app's own database on your device and synced through your own iCloud account (a private iCloud database), so your Mac, iPad and iPhone show the same marks.
- Keywords such as "FPC:4★" (Mac, if you allow it): Written onto your photos in Photos, so your Photos smart albums can filter by your marks. They stay in your Photos library.
- Approximate positions of your photos, for place names: To label photos with a place, the Mac app sends a photo's coordinates (rounded to about a kilometre) to Apple Maps and keeps the name it gets back on your device.
Permissions and why
- Photos: To show your library for culling and add photos to the albums you choose.
- Add to Photos (iPhone and iPad): To save video clips you trim as new videos in Photos.
- Control Photos (Mac): To add keywords for your marks to photos in Photos, so smart albums can use them.
Third parties
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit), Photos and Apple Maps: iCloud syncs your marks between your devices under your own Apple Account. Apple Maps turns photo positions into place names. Their policy (opens external site)
Retention and deletion
Your marks are kept for as long as you keep them in the app. Nothing is kept anywhere else by me.
How to request deletion
Clear marks in the app and they are removed from your devices and iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app's data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, then delete the app. Albums and keywords in Photos are yours to remove in Photos.

BetterMaps
Your information in this app
- Your places, tags, layers, trails and saved routes, including any photos and notes you attach: Stored on your devices and synced through your own iCloud account, so your iPhone and Mac show the same map.
- Your location, if you allow it: Used on your device to show where you are and find places near you. It is not stored by me or sent to me. If you ask for directions from where you are, it is sent as the start point to the route services below.
- The start and end of a directions search: Sent to Transitous (public transport) or BRouter (cycling) to plan the route, and a rounded position to Open-Meteo for the rain hint. Nothing else about you is sent. These services keep the request in their server logs for a short time (see below); I never receive it.
- An optional Yelp API key, if you enter one: Kept in your device's Keychain and sent only to Yelp, when the app looks up details for a place.
Permissions and why
- Location while using the app: To show where you are on the map and find places near you. Optional.
- Camera: To take photos to attach to your saved places.
- Photos: To attach photos from your library to your saved places.
Third parties
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit) and Apple Maps: iCloud syncs your data between your devices under your own Apple Account. Apple Maps draws the map and finds places. Their policy (opens external site)
- Transport for Ireland, Luas and Irish Rail: Stops and timetables come bundled with the app. Opening a stop asks the Luas or Irish Rail service for live times at that stop.
- GitHub: Hosts the optional timetable download. Your device downloads the file; nothing about you is sent with it. Their policy (opens external site)
- Transitous: Plans public transport directions. A directions search sends its start and end points and time. Transitous keeps your IP address and the request in its server logs for up to 2 days, to fix problems and prevent abuse, and then deletes them. Their policy (opens external site)
- BRouter: Plans cycling directions, if you choose cycling. A search sends its start and end points. BRouter keeps your IP address and the route's coordinates in its server logs for two weeks (plus about 10 days in its host's backups), to keep the service running, and then deletes them. Their policy (opens external site)
- Open-Meteo: Rain forecast for the rain-aware hint in directions. Sends a position rounded to about 1 km. Open-Meteo keeps your IP address and the request in its server logs for up to 90 days, for maintenance and to prevent misuse, does not link them to any identity and does not share them. Their policy (opens external site)
- Yelp (optional): Only if you enter your own Yelp key. Looking up a saved place's details then sends its name and position to Yelp. Their policy (opens external site)
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as you keep it in the app. Nothing is kept anywhere else by me.
How to request deletion
Delete places, trails or routes in the app and they are removed from your devices and iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app's data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, then delete the app.

SeaTime
Your information in this app
- Your logbook (voyages, vessels, crew, conditions, notes, signatures and photos): Stored on your device only. It leaves your device only when you export or share it yourself.
- Departure and arrival places: When you search for a place, the text is sent to Apple's map search to find it. If you allow location, the app reads where you are to fill in a departure or arrival.
- Voyage date, time and position, when you ask for past conditions: Sent to Open-Meteo's weather archive to fill in the wind and weather for that voyage.
Permissions and why
- Camera: To photograph certificates, stamps and vessels for your logbook.
- Photos: To attach photos of vessels, certificates and skipper stamps.
- Location while using the app (iPhone): To record where a voyage departed and arrived. Optional; you can type the place instead.
Third parties
- Apple Maps: Place search and the map under a printed track. Their policy (opens external site)
- Open-Meteo: Historical weather for a past voyage, only when you ask for it. Their policy (opens external site)
- People you share with: A logbook or evidence pack you export goes to whoever you send it to. A person who signs a voyage adds their name, signature and details to your logbook on your device.
Retention and deletion
Your logbook is kept on your device for as long as you keep it. Nothing is kept by me.
How to request deletion
Delete voyages in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. Exports you have sent to other people are outside the app; ask them to delete their copy.

ChelseyCooks
Your information in this app
- Your recipes, pantry and shopping list, including any photos you attach: Stored on your devices and synced through your own iCloud account so your devices stay in step. If you share your household, the people you invite see the shared recipes, pantry and list through iCloud sharing.
- Web pages and photos you choose to import: When you import a recipe from a link, the app loads that page and its images directly from the website you chose. Photos and text you import are read on your device.
Permissions and why
- Camera: To photograph a recipe card or cookbook page so it can be imported. Only when you choose to.
- Photos: To attach photos to your recipes, or import a recipe from a photo you pick.
- Reminders: To add your shopping list to a Reminders list you choose, only when you send it there.
Third parties
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): Syncs and shares your data between your devices and your household, under your own Apple Account. Their policy (opens external site)
- Websites you import from: The app loads a recipe page only when you ask it to import that page. That website sees a normal page request from your device.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as you keep it in the app. Nothing is kept anywhere else by me.
How to request deletion
Delete a recipe or list item in the app and it is removed from your devices and iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app's data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, then delete the app. Leaving or stopping a household share removes the shared data from the other person's devices.
