In short

I'm Gabriel Conlon, an independent app developer and photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. I make the apps below, run this website and take photos as Two Out Media, and this policy covers all three.

I don't collect your data. My apps have no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing you put into them is sent to me. What you create stays on your devices and, where an app syncs, in your own iCloud account. Some features ask a public service for something on your behalf, such as a route, live transit times or a forecast; each app's section of this policy names those services and says what is sent.

This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If you use the contact or support form, I receive what you type so I can reply, and I delete it once it's dealt with.

When I take photos and video, I publish pictures of people only with their consent, spoken or written, taken at events or sessions where people know I have a camera and that the pictures may be used on social media and in my own portfolio. If you are in one of my pictures and want it taken down, use the contact form and I will remove it.

Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, through the contact form. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).

Your information in this app

  • The location you look up (a place you search for, a saved favorite or, if you allow it, your current location): Sent as coordinates or a place name to the public weather, tide and warning services listed below, so they can return conditions for that place. It is not stored by me.
  • Your favorite locations and settings, and any optional API key you enter: Stored on your device only, so the app remembers them.

Permissions and why

  • Location while using the app (iPhone): To show conditions for where you are now. Optional; you can search for a place instead. The Android app does not ask for location.

Third parties

  • Open-Meteo: Forecasts, marine and current data, and place search. Their policy (opens external site)
  • MET Norway: Forecast data.
  • Met Éireann: Forecasts and official weather warnings.
  • Marine Institute Ireland: Tide predictions, tide gauges and the Irish Weather Buoy Network.
  • Commissioners of Irish Lights (MetOcean): Measured wind and sea conditions.
  • MeteoAlarm: Official weather warnings for Ireland and the UK.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim (Android): Place search. Their policy (opens external site)
  • Stormglass or WorldTides (optional): Only if you enter your own API key for them in Settings.

Retention and deletion

Nothing is kept by me. Favorites, settings and keys stay on your device until you remove them or delete the app.

How to request deletion

Remove favorites and keys in the app's settings, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
